07/05/26 - Election Day for Holyrood 2026. Campaigned during the day, including attendance at several polling stations for Alex Kerr, candidate for Hamilton, Larkhall & Stonehouse. Also for Mairi McAllan for Clydesdale. Was a great day with valuable conversations with voters.

08/05/26 - Attendance at the Holyrood 2026 Count in EK. Absolutely overjoyed that South Lanarkshire returned 4 SNP MSP’s including: Clare Haughey, Collette Stevenson, Alex Kerr and Mairi McAllan.

19/05/26 - Attended SNP Avondale Branch Meeting

20/05/26 - Attended SLC Executive Committee

27/05/26 - Last Full Council of the 2025/2026 term. At this meeting it was decided that the council would authorise the long term absence of Provost Margaret Cooper. Margaret has served her ward for many years and has, at times, been a sounding board for my own ideas for the ward we share. As part of this, a motion was proposed to have the Depute Provost. Bert Thomson, made the interim Provost. This would leave the Depute seat open. I was overjoyed that my colleagues on the SNP group proposed myself to take this position. However, this was voted against and was given to a Labour Councillor. I hope they can both work well together.

JUNE

01/06/26 - Attended briefing regarding the Local Action Fund for this year. I have a few ideas and will share these soon.

03/06/26 - Attendance at housing meeting

06/06/26 - Was a privilege to judge at Stonehouse Gala Day. What an amazing effort put in by all involved. Well done everyone.

13/06/26 - Attended Strathaven Gala Day. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the breakfast but the effort put in by everyone, whether that was groups or individuals, was amazing. It’s always one of my highlights.

16/06/26 - Attended East Kilbride Area Committee.
