Councillor Elise Frame

As your SNP Councillor for Ward 5 - Avondale & Stonehouse, I am dedicated to serving you and the community.

On Monday 9th March I attended a Round Table that was organised by Màiri McAllan MSP for Clydesdale alongside Sandford Safety First - School Transport Campaign, Climate Action Strathaven, and members of community councils.

It is completely unacceptable that South Lanarkshire Council expect pupils from Sandford to walk along a national speed limit route, with narrow paths, no lighting and blind bends just to get to school, following their decision to cut bus provision.

I have worked on this issue for years now and there is still no change coming from within the council.

I was saddened that no representatives from the council attended, even though they had weeks worth of notice. This is simply unacceptable.

As the only councillor for the area that attended, I was grateful to all participants, especially input from local bus companies.
