Councillor Elise Frame

As your SNP Councillor for Ward 5 - Avondale & Stonehouse, I am dedicated to serving you and the community.

SCHOOL SUPPORT

Grants Available

If you believe you are entitled to the school clothing grant, and/or, free school meals, I am here to help.

It is a very straightforward process and can be done fully online.

Free School Meals

I am also pleased to learn that the SNP Scottish Government are trialling a roll out of free lunches for S1-S3 pupils. This will be for those in receipt of the flagship Scottish Child Payment, another SNP policy lifting children out of poverty.

School Transport

This is a difficult time for so many children with approximately 8000 Secondary School Pupils losing out on transport. This means kids walking up to 30miles per week just to get an education. I am still working with parents from Auldhouse on trying to ensure the transport is kept. If you are a parent/carer whose child lives in my ward and are losing transport, please get in touch.

For those who have been awarded school transport, either for the first time or continuing, you will receive word of the bus operator and pickup/drop off area and times. You usually get this toward the end of July. Children go back to school on August 14th, so if you’ve not heard about the above by Friday 8th August, get in touch.

Placement Requests

The council receive many requests for placement at a school out with your normal catchment area. I understand this is a troubling and stressful time for children awaiting the outcome, especially if this is them moving from P7 to S1. Rest assured that appeals will be heard before the start of the school term and I do everything I can to ensure the needs of the child are the priority to the council.
