Councillor Elise Frame
As your SNP Councillor for Ward 5 - Avondale & Stonehouse, I am dedicated to serving you and the community.
FULL COUNCIL MEETING OF 1ST OCTOBER
Pleased to stand with my SNP Colleagues in support of a motion to have the West of Scotland Roads Safety Guidance (WSRSG) reviewed locally instead of by an external organisation.
The ruling Labour Group pushed a last minute amendment that didn’t mention the concerns of parents, didn’t mention concerns of children, didn’t mention when the WSRSG would meet to review guidance. Council Leader Joe Fagan once more used his speech on the amendment as a political football.
My SNP Group requested a roll call vote and weren’t a bit surprised when each member of the ruling Labour Group voted with the amendment. This also included the Provost. Amendment passed but there were answers required to some points
The provost was asked if these answers could be brought to either an Executive or Education Committee and if a timescale could be provided. The Provost, under visible direction from Cllr Fagan stated “The answers NO to all that”
If there were any school buses left, this council just chucked our kids under it.
